EPIC Day of Service – Ludlow Clean Up Day

On Saturday morning, Ludlow showed once again what community pride looks like in action. Despite cool spring air and a busy weekend across town, volunteers gathered at Veterans Memorial Park for the annual Town-Wide Community Clean Up Day, held in partnership with the Town of Ludlow, the VFW, American Legion, Ludlow Police Department, and local civic groups. This year’s event also served as the Rotary EPIC Day of Service, connecting our club to thousands of Rotarians across the country participating in hands-on service projects on the same day.
The Ludlow Rotary Club was proudly represented by Joanna Stoeber, Josue Irizzary, Filipe Ferreira, and Club President Tony Sanches, who were assigned to one of the most scenic, and most challenging, areas: the Ludlow Riverwalk.
What they found was a mix of natural beauty and the all-too-familiar signs of neglect. From scattered trash to discarded tires, the Riverwalk needed attention. And Rotarians delivered.
Armed with gloves, bags, and plenty of determination, the team cleared debris, removed bulky items, and restored the pathways and riverbank areas that so many residents enjoy throughout the year. By the end of the morning, the Riverwalk looked refreshed, safer, and ready for spring visitors.
This project was more than a cleanup, it was a reminder of Rotary’s commitment to service above self and the power of small groups to make a visible difference. Every bag of trash collected, every tire hauled out, and every stretch of walkway restored reflects the heart of our club and the spirit of our community.
A sincere thank‑you to all who participated, supported, or helped spread the word. And a special appreciation to the Town of Ludlow, Celebrate Ludlow Committee, Linda Collette, all of the groups, and our veteran-led partners for coordinating another successful community event.
Together, we continue to keep Ludlow a place we’re proud to call home.
