On December 4th, 2022 hundreds of residents turned out to donate to Toys for Tots. Residents also enjoyed caroling from the Ludlow High School Chorus, cookies provided by Big Y, Hot Chocolate from Ludlow CARES and met with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Ludlow Rotary was proud to host this event along with the Ludlow Fire and Police Departments, the 250th Celebration Committee, and The American Legion. Marines collected hundreds of toys and filled an entire box truck! We are so proud of the turn out for this important cause. Ludlow Rotary would like to thank our partners and supporters:

Anna Vital Celebrates 5 years of Membership

Anna recently celebrated her 5th Rotary Anniversary. On March 9th we were happy to present Anna with a certificate celebrating this important milestone. Anna is a Contact Center Rep at Luso Federal Credit Union. She has been a vital member of our Rotary Family over the past 5 years, and we are so grateful for her service. Thank you Anna for all you do!

Welcome, Lorraine & Filipe!

Lorraine is a Retail Banking Officer at Country Bank, and Filipe is Branch Manager at Westfield Savings Bank.

On Sunday, November 3rd, Ludlow Rotary Club President, Kevin Vestal, was presented the Gold Rotary Citation by Area Governor Adele Hill. The Rotary Citation is presented to Rotary clubs that strengthen Rotary and serve their communities. The Gold Presidential Distinction is presented to clubs that go above and beyond across all areas of achievement. This is truly an outstanding achievement by the club, and we are proud of the work we do to support our community and the World.
On October 27th we were honored to welcome Hampden County Sheriff Nick Cocci.

Sheriff Nicholas Cocchi is a highly decorated corrections professional whose skills, competence, and thorough understanding of the corrections processes and duties of Sheriff of Hampden County exceeds the high benchmarks necessary to keep our community safe and return offenders to our streets as productive and contributing members of our society.

Sheriff Cocchi rose through the ranks in the sheriff’s department, ultimately ascending to the assistant superintendent before being elected as the 16th sheriff of Hampden County to replace his mentor and friend, Sheriff Michael J. Ashe, Jr.  Prior to being elected sheriff in 2016, Sheriff Cocchi was the recipient of several Sheriff’s Department awards including; Employee of the Month, the Distinguished Service Award and the prestigious Mike Dodson (Supervisor of the Year) Award.

Sheriff Cocchi is a lifelong resident of Ludlow and a graduate of Ludlow High School. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Government from Western New England University and earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Elms College, where he currently serves on their MBA Advisory Council.

On July 28th we were honored to welcome Jodi Zepke as our July speaker. Jodi has been the Director of the Ludlow Senior Center for the past 19 years. Prior to coming to Ludlow she was a Resident Service Coordinator and Case Manager at Greater Springfield Senior Services Inc. Jodi has always known that she wanted to work with seniors. She grew up in Springfield and was a Cathedral graduate. She received her Bachelors from Boston University and Masters from Springfield College.

Jodi shared her experiences over the past few years building and opening the new Senior Center in Ludlow. Jodi and her staff have faced many challenges serving seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have met these challenges heroically and provided valuable services to area seniors during this difficult time. We wish them well in their new building and thank Jodi and her staff for all they do in the community.
Welcome to our newest member Amie Miarecki, Executive Director of Christopher Heights Assisted Living Community in Belchertown. Amie has already been a great addition to our club, and we are honored to welcome her to the Ludlow Rotary family!

The Ludlow Rotary Charitable Foundation is excited to welcome you to our 2nd Annual Fundraiser!

This year we are thrilled to welcome Jimmy Mazz! Legends & Laughter takes a musical journey through Jimmy’s favorite songs by a wide variety of performers from the classics to today's contemporary artists hot off the Las Vegas Strip over the years. Jimmy’s high energy and enthusiasm is tempered only by his ultra smooth vocals as he creates his impressions of Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker, The Beatles, Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck, The Temptations, Tony Orlando, Prince, Bobby Darin, Michael Jackson and David Bowie. With 40 plus years of entertainment experience and as the Headliner at the Superstar Theater at the Resorts International Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, Jimmy Mazz truly understands how to entertain an audience. His versatility and song selection are the keys. Combined with his ability to sound like the original artist in many cases, his voice is rich and elegant.

Also joining us will be DJ Jesse Paulo to help us dance the night away.

All proceeds benefit the Ludlow Rotary Charitable Foundation, Inc. - a 501(c)3 organization

April Beston, Rotarian of the Year
This year’s recipient of Rotarian of the Year should not come as a surprise to anyone. April embodies the ideals of what this award is meant to recognize. She is a spouse, parent and friend to us all. Besides being Treasurer of our club, she is also District 7890 Treasurer. She manages a career, homelife, a business of her own, is active in her church and spends countless hours behind the scenes to accomplish numerous Rotary functions for which little recognition is offered, until today. We are extremely proud to call this person a friend and are equally proud to name April Beston 2019 Rotarian of the Year.

Natalina Tulik, Honorary Rotarian
Our 2019 Honorary Rotarian has a heart of gold and is always willing to help when asked. She has two beautiful daughters, and her husband proudly serves as a Ludlow Police Officer. She was one of the original members of the Ludlow Lion’s Roar 5k Road Race to benefit Ludlow Schools. Natalina was also involved in bringing to Ludlow High School the Relay for Life, to benefit the American Cancer Society, which is still held every fall. She was a founding member of a group which has created vegetable gardens at Veterans Park Elementary and Paul R Baird Middle Schools’ in Ludlow. She most has recently started a non-profit called Second Times a Charm, which provides girls the opportunity to attend their prom and other formal events by offering free of charge dresses, shoes, purses and other accessories. Natalina has been involved in numerous other causes to benefit the Town of Ludlow and its children. She is truly an inspiration to us all, and the Ludlow Rotary is proud to name her 2019 Honorary Rotarian.
